Privacy policy

Applies to the Skanna Android application.

Skanna is developed and published by AVRTEC AB, a company registered in Sweden (org. nr 559386-4043). This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The short version

Skanna does not collect your documents. Scans are created and stored on your device. AVRTEC operates no servers for this app and receives no scan, no page, and no text from one.

Information we collect

None. Skanna has no account system, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising. We do not collect names, email addresses, device identifiers, usage statistics or crash reports.

Your scans and documents

• Captured pages, edited pages and thumbnails are stored in the app's private storage on your device.
• Exported PDF and JPEG files are written to the folder you choose, which is Documents/Skanna/ unless you pick another.
• Files leave the app only when you save or share them, and only to the destination you select.
• Deleting a document removes it from the app. Files you already exported are not affected, because they belong to you and live outside the app.

Permissions

• Camera — used to photograph pages. Images are processed on the device.
• Network access — present because Google Play Billing requires it to process the one-time purchase. Skanna does not transmit documents.

Importing an image, choosing a save folder and sharing a file all use Android's own system pickers, which give the app access only to the item you select. Skanna does not request access to your photo library, contacts, location, microphone or messages.

Purchases

The optional one-time purchase is processed by Google Play. Payment details are handled entirely by Google and are never seen by AVRTEC. We receive only whether a purchase exists for your Google account, which is what unlocks unlimited scanning. Google's handling of payment data is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Device backup

If Android backup is enabled on your device, your Skanna settings and the count of free documents used may be included in your own Google account backup. This is your personal device backup, managed by Google and controlled by your Android settings. Scanned pages and exported files are excluded from it. AVRTEC has no access to your backups.

Children

Skanna is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or erase on request. Your scans are under your control on your own device and can be deleted in the app or in your file manager at any time. Under the GDPR you retain your statutory rights; contact us if you believe we hold information about you.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date above. Material changes affecting how the app handles your information will also be noted in the app's release notes.
